This painting is a reflection of my childhood memories growing up in the narrow alleys of old Shanghai. The fleeting figures of two children—perhaps myself and a friend—disappear into the bright light, evoking a sense of nostalgia and the passage of time. Through the expressive, dynamic brushstrokes of impressionism, I sought not to recreate a specific moment, but to capture the emotional resonance of those vanished days—the warmth of the sun on weathered walls, the rhythm of footsteps, the hush of memory returning.
